As a first year school counselor, I've only known my students for a short time. In that short time, however, they've captured my heart. My school, a small Title 1 building, services about 350 students that range from Kindergarten to fifth grade. Many of our students live in poverty, worrying about things that no child should need to think about such as homelessness and food shortages. Further, a large percentage of our students receive ESL services. Even with these hurdles, students come to school smiling and eager to learn! They are my inspiration.
