I have 8th grade students who, for the most part, come from middle to upper-class families. However, there is a small percentage of my students that come from poverty-level homes, and those students often don't have the same advantages as the others in the classroom. Our school is trying to push technology as much as possible, but often times some of the students are left behind because of lack of equipment. Because Oklahoma funding for public education is quite low, our school is unable to purchase many of the items we would like to incorporate into the classroom.
