The school is a relatively small charter school within the LAUSD network in Los Angeles, CA. As a relatively new school, there is currently a clear lack of science equipment which is keeping my students from achieving their full potentials.
The students are incredibly eager to learn more about chemistry and its applications to the world around them and are constantly looking for the next time they can run an experiment.
While they entered excited about chemistry because of their limited experience with chemistry through television shows like Breaking Bad, they have not yet experienced the full scope of the subject. However, it is clear that they wish to learn more as their excitement about science has led to countless Instagram uploads and Snapchats of demos done in class. But more than anything, they want to be performers of science, not just spectators.
