Our school is in a rural minority community. While our funds and resources are limited, our students potential and drive is certainly not. Students are eager to see real world applications of what they are learning in school that extend further than the town limits that have confined many of their parents. Many of our students strive to be first generation college, if not high school, graduates. We have very few physical manipulatives or technology available to us, and teachers are attempting to instruct students on grade level topics while remediating large gaps in literacy in math skills. Visual and kinesthetic learners struggle in our school because we do not have the resources to accommodate these styles often.
