Our School is a Title I school in a low income community. Students who come to my classroom need to engage in activity based learning that is successful at a rapid rate to help them take ownership and pride in their accomplishments. They love to perform, and present two concerts a year that are open to the public and very well attended by parents, grandparents, and general community members.
Sixty-five percent of the students I teach continue their musical experience by choice when they move on to middle school because they have had a successful musical experience in their elementary years.
