Your donations will provide our classroom with equipment that enables students to split water (H2O) into Hydrogen gas and Oxygen gas. Hydrogen gas is used to launch rockets into space as well as drive Hydrogen fuel cell cars. It is amazing to think that you can make fuel from a substance that is used to put out fires. This demonstrates the power of chemistry. By rearranging the atoms in water you can make fuel that can send rockets into outer space.
The Brownlee aparatus makes it much safer for students to split water using electricity and enables us to collect the Hydrogen gas that would be used to make rocket fuel!
