This school year I am teaching a group of 25 first grade, bilingual students. Our school is located in a large urban school district in Illinois. We have both an elementary school and middle school located on our campus.
The majority of our students receive free/reduced lunches. The students come from working class homes where both parents need to work. Many of our students do not have access to a variety of books outside of school, so they must learn the passion for reading in my classroom.
