A majority of my students come from low-income families so it is my goal to keep them excited about continued learning during this difficult time. I want to be able to provide them with IdeaPads and laptops to assist with their needs while being in my care.
I want to provide the technology needed for my special education fifth grade students. Fifth grade is a pivotal year to begin with let alone during a pandemic.
These devices will have a dual purpose for when we return during in-school days, students will use their laptops during center time to practice various reading and math skills and to become independent users so that they will be able to use the device at home as well.
Some of my students do have access to a Chromebook or iPad but that Chromebook or iPad is being shared between multiple siblings in most cases. The ability to have their own device will ensure that they complete their classwork, attend virtual class sessions, and practice skills on the various learning websites when distance learning.
