I teach in an early childhood special education classroom at a public, urban elementary school. For most of my students, this is their very first school experience. They arrive each day full of curiosity, energy, and excitement to learn!
My students are developing early foundational skills in core subjects and also in communication, independence, and social interaction. They thrive on hands-on, engaging activities that allow them to explore their environment, build routines, and work alongside their peers. Every child in my classroom has unique strengths and learning needs, and they benefit greatly from a supportive, structured space that helps them feel safe and successful.
It’s a joy to watch them grow more confident each day as they discover new skills and begin their educational journey.
