Hi Supporters! I am reaching out to try and get a new classroom carpet! Our current carpet is so very dirty and old. It has been through many spills and accidents and is just plain worn out. Sadly, when I inquired about getting a new one, I was told there were no funds in our city school district for those kinds of things. The rug I have now was purchased with a grant about 15 years ago.
We use our classroom rug all day long. We start there in the morning for circle time and for our morning meeting. The kids use it to read independently as well as to read to friends and classroom volunteers during reading area time. They use it to play math games on during our math block. We gather at different times of the day on our rug to use our Interactive Smart Board as a whole class as well. As you can see, it is an instrumental piece of our learning climate.
