My students are special ed students in Grades 5 and 6. Our community was hit by an EF5 tornado on the last day of school last year. Though our school was not directly hit, we did receive damage and over 1/2 of our city was completely destroyed. Most everyone in the town received some type of damage to their home or automobile. Because of this unprecedented natural disaster, money is extremely tight this year for everyone in our district while we are rebuilding. My school is a Title 1 school with over 52% of our students qualifying for free/reduced lunch.
