These materials would make an amazing difference in the lives of my students. We currently have no computers in our classroom. Sometimes the technology will be used to help a student struggling with math or reading. The artists in class will have opportunities to create art in a new and unique way. My 4th grade students will use the computers to trace and map the multiple routes to the Gold Rush using Google Maps. My 5th graders will have science move from the textbook to accessing videos about the most recent discoveries about the respiratory and circulatory systems. Both grades can use this information to create presentations and other technologically driven projects. Using this technology, my students would also driving their own educational goals. They will be able to navigate the internet and access the world at their fingertips.
The addition of this technology would mean the world to my students. Many of my students have little to no internet access at home and equipping them with technology is powerful. Thank you for supporting my classroom.
