Being a Title 1 School, my students sometimes experience situations differently than other students. Being able to reflect on their feelings or thoughts & write their voice on paper can be a soothing practice that allows their voice to be heard. Within our Kindergarten classroom, the students learn & practice how written language is spoken, put together & modeled in written & oral form. The students practice these skills through hands-on writing experiences. My Kindergarten students enjoy writing books to portray their thoughts & ideas & present their books in what we call "Writer's Theatre". The students are given the opportunity to present & read their books to the class by sitting at the front of the classroom in the "Writer's Chair".
