I have one amazing group of students. They are both 7th and 8th grade students in a self-contained classroom. Each child has a disability that hinders him or her from doing everyday things we may take for granted. Although they come from very low income families, cannot read on grade level and struggle with writing, they come to school each day with a smile on their face ready to learn. The school district they go to school in is considered to be high poverty, all of my students receive free lunch and many do not even have school supplies. Technology is not something they are able to afford, but something that could help make all the difference in their academics.
