I have a great group of fifth graders. My students are so eager to learn and explore the world. These fifth graders come from low income backgrounds and are English learners. The students I teach have seen their parents struggle to provide for their families.
Our school in located in a neighborhood where English is not spoken in many households. The parents of my students want the best for their children. They are dedicated to their children's education and expect their teacher to guide their child toward a path of success. I expect this of myself. I want these kids to become lifelong learners and seek additional education after graduation. Many of my students would be the first in their families to attend college.
