My school is in a high poverty area. My 6th grade students face many challenges before entering my classroom. Despite the fact that my students are drastically behind the grade level norms of their peers in other towns, we have a culture of achievement and focus on the positive outcomes that happen every day. My hope for my students by the end of this school year is that they believe in their abilities as much as I do and will explore opportunities that they may not have otherwise envisioned.
