My school is a K-4 building in Michigan and we are more than 75% free or reduced lunch. We are a largely Hispanic school - my classroom of 28 students has 13 students who qualify with the State of Michigan as English Language Learners and do not speak English as their primary language at home. My students are eager to learn, but most lack the resources to be able to have books at home or to use the public library. My goal is to get them excited about reading with some new and exciting titles in our classroom library which is now small as I am a first year teacher.
