I teach in a low income, high poverty area in Southwest Texas. The majority of our students are on free or reduced lunch and come from homes with low parental involvement, but even with all of the challenges and obstacles they face, my students come to school daily; eager and willing to learn. Just like other schools, we have gifted and talented (GT) students, advanced students, average students, and students who struggle. Nonetheless, the students are here and ready to receive instruction.
