For most of my kindergarten students this is the first time in a public learning setting. They are excited to meet new friends and are demonstrating a real love for learning.
Our classroom is located in a little cottage (a free standing one room mobile unit) in front of the main building of a K, 1, 2 school. Space is a premium in this quaint little cottage and wall space is limited but the students are highly motivated to learn!
We currently have a brown carpet (some children do not like the texture - "this is itchy") marked off with masking tape for personal spacing of the students. This tape keeps ripping off due to heavy foot passage and now a few of the students have taken to peeling it off instead of listening to the group activity - a disruption to our learning environment.
