Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their own learning and make decisions that work best for them.
During their group work time they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. At this time, my students choose to work on our carpet area, small lawn chairs, different desks or lying on the floor with their reading buddy. As motivation, I want to ensure that my students are comfortable and feel safe in their classroom environment. I have noticed significant differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
My students tend to be more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their classmates when they are given a choice of where to work.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! The Wobble Chairs, yoga mats, Stability Balance Discs, and lap desks will provide additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I know that by allowing my students to make their own decisions on where they can positively work will change their demeanor and feel confident that the additional options will help them grow even more!
