My students attend a public school in a large urban area in Illinois. It is a prekindergarden through 8th grade school with an enrollment of about 400. 100% of the students who attend receive free lunch. I provide the technology instruction for all students in the building except prekindergarten. Some classrooms have over 30 students in them. The students have various ranges of computer knowledge but many of them have not have the opportunity to work with the more advanced technology like the tablets. Due to budget cuts, our school has not been able to purchase them for the classroom. During technology class, my students work on the desk top computers but some of them come to me requesting to use the one that I have which is my own. I have pictures of it on the wall and they have seen me give presentations with it and absolutely love the many apps and features that it offers. I let them use it when possible but with a class of sometimes 30 students it is difficult.
