My school is located in Elmhurst, NY. It opened its doors in September 2013. My students come from all over the world. Most of them come with no English skills but with an enormous desire to learn and build a better future for themselves and their families.
The most struggle out of this is that most of the students live in the country with their guardians, one of the parents, or rarely both parents. Living here without parents means that besides the struggle of learning another language, there will be financial struggle as well. They care about their education but they struggle with making it through the day barely eating what the school provides for them.
