My students live in Moore School District, which has both suburban and rural settings. My students are lower to middle class students from the heart of Oklahoma. Many of them have lost homes or had damage due to the two powerful tornados that hit the area in May. Our district is in the process of rebuilding the 2 elementary schools that were lost and repairing several others that suffered major damage. Our community is working hard to recover. My students struggle in math as they begin to learn math skills that are more abstract than concrete. I want to give them all the advantages that other districts are able to supply for their students. It is very important that my students are able to access the internet to provide everyone an opportunity to learn using virtual manipulative and other tools.
