I would like to incorporate Scholastic News magazines into our reading, science, and social studies lessons. I would like to use the magazines in our literacy center time as a newspaper. The students will be able to practice their reading skills and fluency rates. The real-life articles will help make learning meaningful to the class. Not all students like to read books. Many students like to read about nonfiction topics. Scholastic News magazines will give students a chance to read about current events in a kid friendly way. They will be able to apply their knowledge in both science and social studies.
