I teach 6th Grade Bilingual Math for a Title 1 school in the state of Texas. 69% of our students are enrolled in the Bilingual program. 86% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Majority of my students are at-risk students who struggle with success in school and in math. These same students have various multiple intelligences. Many of them are bodily kinesthetic or tactile learners. So creating a notebook instead of just writing notes on a page draw on their strengths. The manipulatives will also allow them for a more hands-on experience in our classroom.
