Our school is a Title I school with over 40 different nationalities. We have 100% free breakfast and lunch due to the large number of low-economic families in attendance. Most of my students come from single-parent homes or have military parents. Every year I have more than one family with incarcerated parents. Their home support is not always the strongest, but that does not dampen the students' drive or willingness to try. My goal is to equip them with whatever I can to get them to the next step. I have no control over what happens before or after school, but between the hours of 9:00am and 3:30pm, they are my class family.
