My students live an urban environment. Our school qualified for a pilot program that provides free lunch for every student. Although they are trying really hard, it is very difficult because many didn't grasp the standards that were taught last year. Many started the school year already behind. My parents try the best they can but some are unable to help because of their math skills are below also.
