My students are first graders between the ages of 6 and 7. They are very vibrant boys and girls with stunning personalities. A few students in our class are labeled SPED (special education) because of their inability to process tradition instruction as quickly as other students. Our school is majorily composed of Hispanic, but include a mixture of African American and White. The SES (socioeconomic) backgrounds of the familites are fairly poor. Because many of the students parents are migrant workers, they rarely have money to donate for school events/needs.
