I am a Speech/Language Pathologist who services children pre-K- 6th grade. My school is small and community oriented, housing only one of each grade level, plus two Multiply Disabled classrooms. The town it is located in is so small that it is a no-bus district, since all students live within walking distance of the school. It is a Title 1 school with more than half of it's population living below the poverty line. The majority of my students are below grade level in reading. Students often arrive at a disadvantage due to lack of exposure and/or a language difference, but they LOVE to learn. Everyday I see their desire to know more and their pride when they have mastered something new.
