We are a Title One school with a 52% turnover rate. Our population is 87% Hispanic. In my class there are 32 students, 27 are Hispanic. Out of the 27 Hispanic students 15 are LEP and come from non-English speaking homes and 27% receive Special Ed assistance. In spite of these challenges, I believe every student can be successful no matter their background, given the proper tools and materials needed. I want to give my students a joy and passion for learning that lasts them a lifetime.
