"Few children learn to love books by themselves. Someone has to lure them into the wonderful world of the written word. Someone has to show them the way." by Orville Prescott. It is my privilege to lure my students into the this world. Something I love best about my students is that I can't keep them out of books. I feel successful when each student finally finds that one book that gets them excited about reading. And they love being read to. We often have guest readers and my students look forward to them. Our school is large and one of our main focuses is literacy. We all understand reading fluency and comprehension are essential to the success of our students in all academic areas.
