I teach 1st Grade at a charter school in an inner city in Maryland. My students come to me each day from very diverse backgrounds eager to learn, explore, and grow. They are a very active group who learn most when they can get their hands dirty, experience learning through projects, in order to gain a deeper understanding. As a teacher I am always introducing to them concepts they do not get in the neighborhoods they live in.
