Students come from low-income areas but they don't need to be taught how to use technology. It is part of their world. They need guidance how they can use it as a curriculum resource. They value the ease of accessibility and portability of devices yet they must go to a public library or borrow their parents phones in order to search for information. They get easily motivated and enjoy working on projects when an iPad is involved. Using iPads as tools is enjoyable resulting in more engaged and motivated learners. The products they can create promote productive thinking. We have a computer lab which we visit once a week for 30 minutes but it is only use for math review teach for a Dual Language class (English-Spanish) and iPads can provide apps that can be used for both languages.
