The majority of my students come from low-socioeconomic backgrounds and attend a Title I school in south Louisiana. With that being said, many of our students are faced with atypical situations outside of school and with a little love, motivation and dedication, our students can succeed. As the students move to higher grades, the Louisiana State Standards' assessment program requires our students to become independent, successful learners. In order to help our students be prepared for the years ahead, we need to provide our little ones with opportunities that can improve their lives both inside and outside the classroom.
