Our school is comprised of 325, PK-5h graders. We are also an "Alert School". Even though we have to focus on a lot of issues before teaching (such as: hygiene, home life situations, hunger, etc.) we stress that education will be their way out of these negatives. We discuss furthering their education to provide a positive focus. Students need a place that is designated ONLY for Career Exploration. It is important to expose students to a wide range of professions and career paths to spark their interests. Unfortunately some barriers would be that 1) 50 minute class isn't enough time and 2) students won't have Internet services or technology at home.
