I would like to teach my students the craft of Junk Journaling. This craft will be used as a creative means to express ideas as they learn from home. I would like them to use items from home to reflect what they have been feeling since the closing of our school in March of 2020. Many students need alternative ways to express their social emotional needs.
Junk Journaling provides an alternative craft which will allow students to create and connect in creating something absolutely beautiful.
My students would be able to gather items that adults consider as junk mail and create artistic pathways. By creating their own journal art they are able to directly connect and have ownership. In today's society we speak a great deal of mental health. Junk Journaling provides such an avenue for that.
