These kids today love their technology. Our community consists of many families in the tech industry, so our students come to us chomping at the bit to use something besides a text book and word processing program. However, most kids are told to put their devices away and focus on the book. This is a drag for them.
As a STEM school, we have a rather tech-savvy community, who want to be involved in the learning of their students. They get very excited to see the students pushing the limits with technology and our students are eager to show this off. However, due to limited access to an outdated computer lab and a large percentage of low-income/free-reduced lunch supported families, access to technology is limited.
