I teach approximately 650 Pre-k to 3rd grade students in a STEM lab in a Title 1 school in Mississippi. My students are from mainly low to middle socio-economic backgrounds. They rotate through my classroom on an eight day rotation. They are super eager to learn and love getting to do science experiments.
The students in our school love getting to come to get to come to the science lab. The students get so excited when they realize it is their day to come. Unfortunately, the regular classroom teachers don't have enough time to really cover science in the classroom or to do lots of experiments. Most of the science experiments that they get to do is in my class.
We have science kits for my kindergarten through 3rd grade classes. My preschoolers however have limited activities that they can do independently. Science experiments for Pre-k require my full attention and small groups.
