Our school is in Gwinnett County, Ga, which is part of the Atlanta metro area. Our school has a diverse student population in a suburban setting. Roughly, we are 25% each African American, Asian, Caucasian, and Hispanic. Although, many of our students receive free and reduced lunches, we are not a Title I school. Therefore, we depend on our PTA to support many of the "extras" available to our students. Our teachers also spend a lot of their own money on the students.
We are one of the last schools in out district to become retrofitted for technology updates. We just recently became wireless with the availability of "Bring Your Own Device" to school. As a teacher, my goal is to make technology more available to my students, so I can offer even more individualized instruction.
