As a social studies teacher, I work closely with ELA teachers to incorporate reading and grammar strategies. Several of the standards I teach in MS History and World Geography focus on current events. With Scholastic Junior magazines I will be able incorporate cross curricular lessons that will engage students with up to date global world news while reinforcing ELA skills. Scholastic Junior also has an online component that my students can use in their ICT2 computer classes which will incorporate technology. By using this magazine I hope to open my students eyes and connect them to the to the global community!
