My school is a former campus that was previously governed by a school district that was closed by the state due to repeated low performing ratings. It is now under the direction of another school district. Therefore, we are going through the transition of restructuring, stabilizing, organizing, implementing and adjusting while instructing with very minimal resources. Upon arriving for this 2013-2014 school year, there were no teacher computers (desktop nor laptop), printers, student computers, tablets, projectors, Elmos or Smartboards. We are still unsure as to when all teachers will have all of these resources accessible to us and our students. My students are Fiesty First-Graders! It is a mixture of genders, as well as ethnicities. The students include newly enrolled, retainees, and some that did attend the school previously. Many of the students are not on their current grade level of reading or math, and therefore additional means of intervention are being sought.
