My students are the most dedicated, motivated, and rewarding students in school. They have various disabilities that include: intellectual disability, Autism, orthopedic impairment, Cerebral Palsy, and ADHD. Each of the students has a great attitude about learning, and always try their best on all assignments. Their abilities are greatly varied, but all have their own unique strengths that we try to develop. Because we have so many special needs students, we really have to get the whole student body involved with making sure that they have a nurturing, encouraging, and understanding school environment. The Junior Civitan Club is very active in providing peer helpers to assist my students on field trips, school activities, and community activities and events. Since all my students needs are so different, the type of accommodations and assistance that each receives is customized to meet their educational goals. For this reason, we need a variety of sensory materials for them.
