My students are all first or second generation immigrants living in an urban area. Our school is classified as a title one school based on the number of families living in what our government and most Americans define as poverty. Yet, these students and their parents constantly express gratitude for the privileges of living in this nation and being able to attend school. They are hard working families who have come to this country seeking the American Dream and are willing to work for it. I am honored to work with them.
