My students need help falling in love with books. Just giving them great books will not create readers; they need just right books of high interest low vocabulary to ignite a passion for the written word. No book will be safe once my students become Reading Ninjas with these texts. Students with learning disabilities struggle choose books appropriate for their level and having a better selection of high interest low vocabulary books will empower them to feel like they are as successful as their peers. The students will be able to go to the book shelf and pick a book appropriate for them without the frustration of being told the book is too difficult for them. They will fly with their new reading superpowers.
