My students inspire me every day with their drive to succeed and their ability to overcome challenges. Our school is ethnically, linguistically, and economically diverse. 70% of students receive free or reduced lunch (Strategic School Profile). Some students do not speak English at home; others live with extended family. I work as a special education teacher with second and third graders with a variety of strengths, interests, goals, and areas for improvement. My students are full of energy and eager to explore the world around them. They constantly ask questions and thrive during hands-on learning experiences. My second and third graders work extremely hard to overcome their learning difficulties; my goal is to help my students achieve personal and academic success.
