My students are inner city, low income children who qualify for free breakfast and free lunch. Many of them are from problem families and do not receive proper care and routinely come to school with no supplies (pencils, paper, notebooks....etc.) nor clean clothes. Some of them are on medication and need special help. Our school is a Title I, program improvement school located in a very challenging area of Los Angeles. My students need special motivation and support to overcome the environmental learning disadvantages they are facing.
