My classroom consists of 27 inquisitive second graders. They are always so excited when I announce that it is computer day or that it's their turn on the class computer. We are classified as a Title 1 school so many students do not have access to computers or current technology at home. They rely on the resources at school to keep them abreast of technology. Apart from rotating through the one computer in our class, they have a 50 minute computer lab every 2 weeks, but this is not enough as they lose the skills that are required to move accurately and swiftly through the programs. Some use valuable time navigating the programs rather than reading and responding to the comprehension questions.
