In my 3rd Grade reading class, I have students with limited English proficiency and students that are new to our country. Although my school is located in a high poverty/high ELL populated area, we do not have a selection of books available for these students to read. I want to be able to provide all of my students with the opportunity to have a book in their hands each day. Providing such resources for my students will ease their transition in learning to read in English.
Creating a classroom library of high-interest, bilingual/Spanish books for my English Language Learners will keep my students motivated to read in the classroom and share their joy of reading with their families.
