I plan to make use of the magical materials provided to infuse life across different student groups and counseling sessions. My 1st grade career group will be able to utilize the musical instruments to engage in a lively discussion on careers in the arts. The cool down center is used mostly by 3rd to 5th grade students in crisis and will house the link blocks to distract them from intense emotions. The other manipulatives, will be used to help my kindergarten group practice sharing and other social skills. The monthly Parent and Child class will use the drums as well as other toddler friendly toys to create age appropriate sensory experiences. In addition, the Yoga class will use the CD player to listen to meditations while the Parent and Child class will follow along with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as well, as other nursery rhyme favorites.
The Bronx needs a fairy Godparent to join me in offering services that foster mental wellness across the various early childhood groups. My goal, this year, is to increase the number of innovative groups offered through donations. In the past, I have created 130 student opportunities that promote wellness, which engaged the community. I am requesting your assistance to help me achieve my goal of having 200 students participate in a wellness group.
