It's important that we maximize instructional time in the classroom and transitions to small group work goes much more smoothly when every member has a seat. This helps each group member feel a part of the learning community and each individual can then focus on the task they are about to engage. Educational games help motivate and engage all learners in the classroom. Students will increase vocabulary and social skills through word work with AfterWords, Blurt, and Apples to Apples, Jr. My plan is for students to earn at least one class period a month to form teams and play these language building games.
